WINTER PARK – Makaila Nichols, best-selling author, speaker, founder of a 501(c) 3 corporation, and a voice for anti-bullying will join Central Florida Business Leader John Crossman Saturday, Dec. 17 at 1:05 p.m. for his weekly radio show – The Crossman Conversation.
Nichols, a Central Floridian, wrote Blatantly Honest: Normal Teen / Abnormal Life which became a best seller in two categories: Parenting of Teens and Teen Social Issues. It propelled her into the national limelight and speaking engagements at schools and other organizations across the country followed.
The charitable organization she founded Blatantly Honest funds projects — like “operation inclusion” — that help children and teens turn around their perception of themselves and their self-value. https://blatantlyhonest.org/
Crossman, author and speaker with a long history of problem-solving for companies, launched his radio show to provide a platform for activists, like Nichols, to share experiences and ideas on solving issues and challenges faced today, and bullying has never been more prevalent.
“Bullying comes in all shapes and sizes and impacts our youth and families across every culture and socio-economic level. Makaila can offer a great deal of insight from her personal experiences and help our listeners,” said Crossman.
The Shepherd Radio is available on three stations, each part of the MARC Radio group. 1270 AM – WIWA in Orlando which covers the entire Central Florida area. In the Ocala/Villages area, The Shepherd is heard on 103.5 FM and 720 AM, while Gainesville listeners can hear the broadcast on 96.3 FM or 1430 AM.
