The ACF Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Culinary Federation (ACF) Chef Members spent this past Saturday (12/3/22) with military veterans at Liberty Manor in Tampa to share some time with them and to cook a lunch of barbecue ribs, pulled pork and the traditional sides. Chapter members are also benefitting the veterans through a collection and donation of home necessities. Chapter Chefs will have the occasion to cook two (2) more meals for the veterans during the upcoming holiday season to include their Christmas dinner. Vanessa Marquis, CEC, AAC (Chapter President) expressed her feelings and gratitude for the veterans group in a statement, “My father, both grandfathers and my husband all served in the U.S. Army. Veterans are near and dear to my heart. It’s the least I can do to give back and say Thank You!”
About the ACF Tampa Bay Chapter:
Our chapter’s purpose is the advancement of the culinary profession and culinary awareness through education and certification of the membership and close interaction with other local organizations. The chapter membership is composed of chefs, cooks, culinary educators, culinary enthusiasts, students, and purveyors from Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas Counties and the surrounding metro area. Our primary local outreach program is the ACF Educational Foundation’s Chef & Child Initiative, an ongoing program whereby our chapter chefs go out into their communities to educate children and families in understanding proper nutrition by providing tools and resources for community-based programs led by American Culinary Federation chef members.
