Homosassa Springs, FL– The public is invited to join the Covid Celebration of Life to remember all lost to the pandemic. Florida’s first and only Yellow Heart Memorial, which memorializes those taken by Covid, will host the event on December 11, 2022, at 4:00 pm at Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast Grief Services located at 8471 West Periwinkle Lane Homosassa Springs, FL.
Florida’s Yellow Heart Memorial was created to remember loved ones lost to COVID. YHM invites the public to mourn their losses together at the Covid Celebration of Life. “On April 29, 2020, I lost my extra special brother Bobby to COVID. He was intellectually disabled with a heart filled with love and generosity. My mom was taken by the virus on August 6, 2022. Over 80,000 people in Florida, over 1 million in the US, and over 6 million globally are gone. Many did not get to say goodbye or hold funeral services. We must come together as a community to honor every life taken and grieve our losses together.” says Debra McCoskey-Reisert.
Binders and notebooks are on the table at the memorial. Bring stories, articles, pictures, obituaries, etc. to share. Yellow heart cutouts are on hand to add your loved ones to the wall.
Yellow Heart Memorial is a nonprofit organization created by COVID Survivor Advocate Rosie Davis of Texas as a tribute to her mother and those who died due to COVID-19. The mission is to have the memories of loved ones lost to COVID live forever. Since its first memorial in January 2021, the organization has expanded across the country.
