Santa is coming to Poinciana! The Association of Poinciana Villages (APV) is thrilled to announce the return of its Annual Christmas Parade and Holiday Celebration on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. This is one of our most highly anticipated events each year, which is typically attended by more than 1,000 Poinciana residents.
This family-friendly event is free for APV residents and the public to enjoy. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. with a grand parade featuring dozens of floats and participants making their way from Cypress Parkway to Vance Harmon Park. Immediately following the parade will be the Holiday Celebration at the Amphitheater at Vance Harmon Park, located at 625 Country Club Drive, complete with food trucks, live music by La Calle Band and a four-piece Christmas caroling troop, inflatable bounce houses, stilt walkers, face painters, balloon art, crafters, vendors, a Battle of the Bands, and much more! We’re thrilled to share that Carol Saragusa will return once again as our fabulous event emcee.
Another exciting element is the return of Santa and Mrs. Claus! Event attendees will have an opportunity to have their picture taken with these holiday favorites.
Residents and local businesses are invited to enter a float for the parade or participate as a vendor at the Holiday Celebration. There is no cost to enter but all floats must be decorated. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. The APV LifeStyles Department is accepting applications for floats and vendors until December 5 at https://tinyurl.com/4vdm2zm6. If you have any questions or if you are interested in volunteering at the event, please contact Diana Garcia at diana.garcia1@fsresidential.com.
The event will also feature a Battle of the Bands for local high school marching bands to compete for the chance to win cash prizes. Interested bands can contact Trish Moore at trish.moore@fsresidential.com.
Parking will be provided off site at the APV Activity Campus at 445 Marigold Avenue. APV will be using a 14-passenger bus as a shuttle to transport attendees to and from the event site every 20 minutes from 9:00am – 3:00pm. Carpooling is highly suggested. To ensure the safety of float participants and parade viewers, there will be no parking at the event site or on Country Club Road, except for Disabled Person Parking.
Residents should also keep in mind that the following streets will be closing at 10:30 a.m. on the day of the Parade: Country Club Court, Chip Court, Trophy Lane, South Flag Drive, South Flag Court, Country Club Road between Doverplum and Caddy Lane, and Doverplum between Cypress Parkway and Country Club Drive.
As always, the community thanks its sponsors C3 Wellness Spa, PR Global Enterprises, HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital, Humana, Osceola Memory Gardens, Work Horse Temps, KW Smart1 KellerWilliams Realty, and Mindful Storage.
