December 1, 2022 by Post

WHO:              University Area CDC (Community Development Corporation)

WHAT:            JOY Sculpture Painting

WHEN:             Friday, Dec. 2, 10:30 a.m.

WHERE:          University Area Community Park, Tampa, FL 33613

DETAILS:         University Area residents will join University Area CDC staff, including artist Junior Polo, to paint an 8’ high sculpture that spells out JOY in bright, cheerful colors.

Designed by community residents along with Polo, the soon-to-be colorful sculpture will join others in the neighborhood of similar design that spell out LOVE, HOPE and PEACE. Residents, and youth in the Prodigy Cultural Arts program, have been working for months on building the letters, which have been constructed out of treated wood and body filler.

The JOY sculpture will be unveiled on Saturday, Dec. 17 during a presentation ceremony and open house at Harvest Hope Park; more details to follow.
