(Bradenton, Fla., Dec. 1, 2022) — The Coding Academy at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is offering a STEM camp for ages 7-13 during winter break at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W. The “Super Cyber Winter Camp” will run from January 2-6, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and costs $299. Before and after care is provided for a small additional fee. Discounts are available for the families of SCF students and staff. The camp will feature a variety of STEM-related subjects taught in age-appropriate formats, with a focus on cybersecurity, virtual reality and Minecraft for junior engineers.
Using Minecraft EDU, campers will gain engineering skills by building simple machines with redstone circuits and other modeling materials. Participants will explore cybersecurity concepts using virtual worlds as an immersive platform for learning and will use their increased knowledge to defend against simulated cyberattacks in virtual reality.
The SCF Coding Academy is on the second floor of the 26 West Center at SCF Bradenton. The Academy provides industry-driven training from leading professionals, equipping motivated individuals with the essential technical skills to succeed in a digital world.
