Employment Sites Program Applications Open Until Jan. 17, 2023Pinellas County’s Employment Sites Program has opened its fourth round of funding, with applications available at PCED.org/ESP.Pinellas County has committed funds in excess of $80 million to assist in the construction and redevelopment of industrial (manufacturing & flex) and office buildings in order to facilitate a strong and robust local economy that provides growth opportunities for existing businesses and attracts new target industry employers to Pinellas County. The program assists in funding gaps in capital expenditures related to the development/redevelopment of a building.Find details and a link to the online application portal at PCED.org/esp. All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m. on January 17, 2023. |
ARK Invest Grand Opening in St. PetersburgWe joined the City of St. Petersburg, the Tampa Bay Innovation Center, and other partners to celebrate the grand opening of ARK Invest’s headquarter office in downtown St. Petersburg. The office is located in 200 Central, the tallest office tower in Pinellas County.ARK announced its move to Pinellas last year, with its founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer Cathie Wood stating, “We are thrilled to relocate our corporate headquarters to St. Petersburg, Florida, as we believe the Tampa Bay region’s talent, innovative spirit, and quality of life will accelerate our growth initiatives. ARK is not a traditional Wall Street asset management firm, and we are looking forward to breaking the mold further by relocating to St. Petersburg, a city investing in technology, science, and innovation.”Additionally, the company is collaborating with Pinellas County, the Tampa Bay Innovation Center, the City of St. Petersburg, and the U.S. Economic Development Administration to design, construct and equip the ARK Innovation Center, a new, 45,000-square-foot regional business incubator. Tampa Bay Innovation Center receives $15,000 grant from Duke Energy Florida to spotlight new Center opening July 2023During Tampa Bay Innovation Center’s Tech Talk on Climate Tech, presented Nov. 22, representatives from Duke Energy presented a $15,000 check to help the center promote its resources and services to tech startups in the region. “The funding from Duke Energy comes at a pivotal point in the growth of the Innovation Center as we work with our partners on a purpose-built Innovation Center,” shared Tonya Elmore, president & CEO, Tampa Bay Innovation Center. “We are excited to launch a marketing campaign with the funding that will highlight the new facility and attract technology startups to St. Petersburg.”Read the full story here. |
Pinellas County Permitting: Online 24/7 Beginning Dec. 5 Effective Monday, December 5, all permitting applications and site plan submittals must be entered through the Pinellas County Access Portal. Customers will logon to their online Pinellas County Access Portalaccount. If a user doesn’t already have an account, they can get started using the link or scan the QR code with a smart phone camera. Customers who already have an account are ready for the change. After December 5, customers will apply online, upload plans and required documents, monitor a project’s progress and resolve issues and conditions all from the comfort of their home or office. |
