Westinghouse SURE Announces Special “Feed the Hungry” Program Donation Supporting Sarasota County Hurricane Recovery

Joe Tain and Pat Loftus of SURE’s newly formed Florida Chapter presented the donation check following a tour of the facilities at the All Faiths Food Bank in Sarasota. Accepting the funds for All Faiths Food Bank was Rachel Bradley, Director of Philanthropy.

Donations totaling $38,400 will support 25 Meals on Wheels & Food Banks during the holiday season, including a special donation of $1,500 in support of SURE’s Florida Members to help those impacted by Hurricane Ian

SARASOTA , FLA, November 23, 2022 – Sarasota-based All Faiths Food Bank, serving Sarasota and Desoto Counties, received a $1,500 special donation from Westinghouse S.U.R.E. (Service Uniting Retired Employees) as part of its Annual Feed the Hungry Program. This donation will help those struggling with food insecurity who are recovering from Hurricane Ian’s devastating impacts.

Sandra Frank, CEO at All Faiths Food Bank commented, “We are so grateful for Westinghouse SURE’s generous donation to support our Hurricane response efforts. Recovery will stretch on for a long time, and All Faiths Food Bank is committed to providing nutritious food and resources for our neighbors. It is uplifting to receive both local and out of state support from organizations like this. Thank you for opening your hearts to our community in this time of need. ”

Westinghouse SURE Board Member, leader for SURE’s regional initiative, and Florida Chapter Member Mark Fecteau stated, “This is the first of what we hope to be many future positive impacts to Florida feed the hungry efforts, supported by our many generous and active Westinghouse retirees across the State.”

Headquartered in Western Pennsylvania, Westinghouse SURE is one of the nation’s largest and most successful all-retiree volunteer groups with nearly 800 members across the globe participating in over 270 community service activities totaling more than 1.5 million volunteer hours in its 33-year history. Now in its 10th year, SURE’s signature Feed the Hungry program has increased its community support every year, donating a total of $38,400 in 2022 to support those in need.
