Special Broadcast of The Crossman Conversation to focus on Iran – The Heightened Movement for Religious Freedom, Women’s Rights

November 21, 2022 by Post

WINTER PARK — The Crossman Conversation, hosted by Florida Business Leader John Crossman, will present a special broadcast Friday Nov 25 at 11:05 a.m. His two guests – Shirin Taber and Rahman Shahidi, MS, CFM – are the voice of the people of Iran. They will speak about the democracy movement in Iran and recent alert issued by the State Department.

Taber is Iranian American and she is the Executive Director of Empower Women Media, an organization promoting gender equality and freedom of religion and belief. She will outline how she, through her organization, is raising awareness and supporting the current push by the women and youth in Iran for women’s rights and religious freedom.

Shahidi, an engineering consultant with Singhofen & Associates, Inc. in Orlando, recently joined the movement. “There is a lot of ugliness in the world. If people close their eyes to it, there will be much more,” he said.

In an interview by Christianity Today, Taber underscores how religious freedom correlates with a significant number of other freedoms and specifically how ‘the causes of religious freedom and women’s rights can work together to propel both movements.’

Crossman launched his talk show across The Shepherd network in Central Florida to provide a platform and collaborate with people of every culture, profession or vocation who can offer insight and solutions for the tough problems and challenges faced today.

“Women and girls in Iran continue to be treated as second class citizens in spite of widespread outrage about the Islamic Republic’s killings of women and protestors asserting freedom of religion and belief. Tune in to hear an update on the changes taking place in Iran,” said Crossman.

The Shepherd Radio is available on three stations, each part of the MARC Radio group. 1270 AM – WIWA in Orlando which covers the entire Central Florida area. In the Ocala/Villages area, The Shepherd is heard on 103.5 FM and 720 AM, while Gainesville listeners can hear the broadcast on 96.3 FM or 1430 AM.
