Team members, residents and prospective homeowners dropped off their donations at PulteGroup’s Riverview office and three Del Webb communities in Land O’ Lakes, Parrish and Ocala.

(Tampa, Florida) – Residents and PulteGroup team members throughout West Florida and Ocala did their part to make the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday memorable for many of their neighbors. The homebuilder hosted its first-ever Turkey Drive, collecting more than 400 turkeys plus boxes of canned goods and monetary donations on Wednesday, November 16.

Residents and future homeowners were able to donate their turkeys at four separate drop-off locations which operated concurrently: PulteGroup’s West Florida main office in Riverview, and the communities of Del Webb Bexley in Land O’ Lakes, Del Webb BayView in Parrish, and Del Webb Stone Creek in Ocala. All turkeys were picked up in refrigerated trucks at all four locations at the culmination of the 3-hour-long donation drive.

All of the turkeys collected in Tampa were donated to Metropolitan Ministries, which serves individuals and families in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Pasco, Manatee, and Hernando counties. At the same time, the turkeys collected in Ocala were donated to Marion County’s First Step Food Bank. In all, the donations will help feed hundreds of families for Thanksgiving amid food donation shortages which currently being experienced throughout the state.

“As we begin this season of giving, we’re grateful to all of our homeowners and team members whose donations will make the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday a little brighter for those struggling,” said Sean Strickler, Division President for PulteGroup’s West Florida Division. “We’re always looking for ways to serve our communities, but reaching out to assist others is especially important this year as many struggle with economic uncertainty and rising costs.”
