SARASOTA, FL – On November 11, during Music Compound’s annual Music Compound Awards & Staff Retreat, the team gathered at the company’s Manatee location, dedicating the day to connecting with and learning from each other, while promoting creativity and positive mental health. Additionally, owner and president Jenny Townsend recognized outstanding employees who have demonstrated their commitment to the company’s mission to inspire, collaborate and educate.
Honorees were: Alyssa Martin, who received the Inspirational All-Star Award; Iain Harris, who was recognized with the Educational All-Star Award; Alicia Schiavone, who was honored with the Collaboration All-Star Award; Taylor Galford, who was recognized with the Summer Camp All-Star Award; and Peyton Milhorn, who earned the Rising Star Award.
The team enjoyed two creative sessions, one on floral arranging and the other an acrylic pour painting class. The floral arranging session was led by Stevie Krumm, owner of Sarasota Florist; Music Compound owner Jenny Townsend led the acrylic pour paint class.
During the event, the team focused on the importance of numbers 11/11 and 23; according to “Angel numbers,” the number 23 is about change, progress and growth – values that are core to Music Compound’s mission. Together, the team selected one word that would guide the company in all areas in the coming year: quality.
Keynote speaker was, Kelsea Koenreich, a business coach and mentor for CEOs, who spoke about vulnerability and how understanding one another can help a company grow together, both personally and professionally.
“The focus of this year’s event was the people who make Music Compound what it is: our incredible team,” said Townsend. “This year, we let go of previous business-oriented agendas that focused on company milestones, member reviews, retention ratings and areas to improve and, instead, focused on unity, creativity and the mental health of our team members. I am grateful every day for the opportunity to work with our incredible staff and so proud of this year’s worthy honorees.”
Music-inspired cake and cupcake sandwiches were provided by Ella’s Sweet Spot; flowers were provided by Sarasota Florist. The participation and engagement of the Retreat & Awards event collaborators was purposeful, showcasing Townsend’s commitment to supporting woman-owned businesses.
