(St. Petersburg, FLORIDA) – Some extra special cheer will be in store at this year’s Holiday Spectacular concert which will be held on Monday, December 5 at 7 p.m. at The Palladium, 253 5th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL. The event is organized and underwritten by the Greater St. Petersburg Awesome Original Second Time Arounders Adult Marching Band.
This annual tradition will feature an evening of outstanding holiday classics and new favorites performed by the Second Winds Symphonic Band, St. Petersburg College Jazz Band, and the Pinellas Youth Symphony. The evening kicks off with pre-show performances by the Florida West Coast Flute Choir and Snow Slides Trombone Quartet.
This year’s Holiday Spectacular offers something for audience members of all ages with musical performances including “The Polar Express”, “Breath of Heaven” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem.” The Second Time Arounders’ Rounderettes dance team and Majorettes will transform into dancing elves and toy soldiers for two unique routines with the Second Winds, audience members will enjoy a festive sing-a-long of Holiday favorites, and Santa Claus will make a special appearance.
“We are so excited to be celebrating this joyous time of year in person this year,” said Bill Findeison, director of the Second Winds, and organizer of the Holiday Spectacular. “This show is always well-received by our community, and it marks the start of the holiday season for many of our audience members. This year’s concert promises to be the best one yet as we celebrate music for life with our gifted high school and college performers in addition to the Second Winds, who have delighted concert-goers for years.”
Many members of the Second Winds are also involved in the Second Time Arounders, which Findeison founded more than 40 years ago. He now serves as director emeritus of the organization. The Rounders, as they are known, most recently performed in Dublin, Ireland, have appeared twice in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and have marched in other well-known parades throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The doors open at 6:15 p.m. followed by pre-concert music at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets for the Holiday Spectacular are $20 for reserved seating and $10 at the door (cash only, if available) and can be purchased online through The Palladium box office at https://mypalladium.org/events/second-time-arounders-holiday-spectacular/.
