The eighth annual star-spangled art exhibit was a big hit. Sponsored by Operation Helping Hand, it paid tribute to Veteran artists!
The event at Unisen Senior Living in Tampa had Tampa Bay area veterans participating to show off their creative side. Nearly 20 veterans displayed 60 amazing art pieces that included sculptures & paintings.
The themes included patriotic scapes, scenic images, animals, war reflections and more.
For almost 3 weeks the artwork was on display. Residents of Unisen and visitors could enjoy the very detailed artwork displayed throughout the property. Many employees said they SO enjoyed seeing the art on display and so did the residents as well.
Judges looked at all the work and made selections on the top three winners..
The Judges included – Henrik Larsen Brigadier General (AF), Senior National Representation of Denmark, Jim Griffin, Chairman Operation Helping Hand & Ms. Pat Faulkner, UNISEN
The top 3 winners are:
1st place Rocky Pond by Ronald Deel
2nd place Knee Deep by Bob Herbenick
3rd place Gulf View by Bob Herbenick
Participants were thrilled at having their artwork on display. Many thoroughly enjoyed sharing the story behind the paintings. Some paintings were on sale but others were not.
This was a real treat and you can bet these veterans will quickly get started on creating for next year.
