Community members are invited to share input on the update to the Greater Palm River Area Community Plan

Map of the Greater Palm River Area The Greater Palm River Area Community Plan is located adjacent to the City of Tampa, south of State Road 60/Adamo Drive, west of US Highway 301 to McKay Bay, and north of the boundary of the adopted Riverview Community Plan boundary, south of Madison Avenue/Progress Boulevard.
Tampa, FL (November 9, 2022) – The public is warmly invited to provide input on suggested improvements for the Greater Palm River Area Community Plan update. Established in 2008, the plan is part of the Comprehensive Plan for unincorporated Hillsborough County and provides specialized and localized policy guidance for the communities of Palm River, Progress Village, Clair Mel, and others.
On September 8, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) requested staff update the Greater Palm River Area Community Plan. The update will examine the issues and opportunities facing the area, provide strategies for solutions, and portray a shared vision and goals for the community’s future. This project is expected to be completed in 2024.
Community input is essential to accurately reflect the desires of those who live in the Greater Palm River Area. The Hillsborough County City-County Planning Commission, in partnership with Community & Infrastructure Planning, has scheduled two hybrid community open houses for the public to engage with the planning team, ask questions, and provide input:
Community Open House #1When: Tuesday, November 15 | 6–8 pmWhere: Emanuel P. Johnson Recreation Center, 5855 S 78th St, Tampa, FL 33619, or register to attend virtually
Community Open House #2When: Saturday, November 19 | 10 am–noonWhere: Winston Park Boys & Girls Club, 7605 Destin Dr, Tampa, FL 33619, or register to attend virtually
There will be a presentation at the beginning of both meetings and participants can drop in anytime to review the information and provide input. Members of the project team will be available to answer questions and provide more information.
