WINTER PARK / DAYTONA BEACH — Lawrence Drake, II, Ph.D., MBA, MS, ACC, Interim President of Bethune-Cookman University, author and speaker, will join Central Florida Business Leader John Crossman Saturday, November 5, on The Crossman Conversation, which airs at 1:05 p.m. across Central Florida on The Shepherd network.
During his 40 years of leadership experience within several corporations and nonprofits, Dr. Drake served as a founder of three private enterprises. During a 21-year career with The Coca-Cola Company he held several key positions, including Division President and CEO of its Nigeria and Equatorial Africa Divisions. In tandem with his role as BC-U’s Interim President, Dr. Drake also serves as the Dean of its College of Business and Entrepreneurship.
Crossman, author and speaker launched his radio show to provide a platform for guests who are widely accomplished and who, at the same time, are trying to make a difference by sharing ideas on solving widespread issues and challenges. Crossman, son of the late pastor and civil rights advocate Rev. Kenneth Crossman, previously established two endowed scholarships at BC-U, a memorial scholarship and more recently a real estate scholarship, and he serves on the university’s board of trustees.
Dr. Drake is the author of several papers and publications on human behavior, including his “Color Him Father,” (2019) his critically acclaimed book that explores the myths about Black fatherhood. He has been a speaker at several American Psychological Association annual meetings.
With a sustained commitment to learning access, coaching and mentoring, Dr. Drake’s vision is to inspire business professionals to transform the world economy to benefit the under-resourced.
