Humane Society of Tampa Bay giving free vaccinations to 1,000 dogs

November 2, 2022 by Post

FREE SHOT CLINIC FOR DOGS

TAMPA, FLA (November 2, 2022) – November 5, 2022, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay will be hosting the 14th Annual Free Shot Clinic for Dogs to provide free DA2PP and rabies vaccines for 1,000 dogs. HSTB partners Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center, Feeding Tampa Bay, and Echo will also be on-sight offering additional services. This event provides an opportunity for pet owners to keep their dogs up-to-date with vaccines and their rabies licenses.

Since the inception of this yearly event, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay has vaccinated 15,000 dogs. The shot clinic was initiated after an increase in owner-surrendered animals to the shelter citing high-cost medical bills and the lack of resources available for low-income families. There are many Hillsborough County residents that line up before 9 am to guarantee their dogs are one of the 1,000 seen.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay’s partner the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center will be on-site giving free rabies licenses to all dogs given the vaccine to ensure they are all legal. In Hillsborough County, it is mandatory for all dogs over the age of 3 months to have up-to-date rabies vaccine and license. HSTB’s partner Feeding Tampa Bay will also be set up to give the community food.

“We are happy to provide free vaccines for dogs to help keep them healthy and the community safe,” said Sherry Silk, Chief Executive Officer of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Join the Humane Society of Tampa Bay on November 5th, 2022 from 9a-Noon at the Gardenville Park & Recreation Center located at 6219 Symmes Road, Gibsonton, Fl 33534. All dogs must be on leashes and litters of puppies are not accepted. For their safety, no cats are allowed at the event.
