(Tampa, Florida) – Golfing and giving back was the goal for PulteGroup’s West Florida Division’s 7th Annual “Building to Make Lives Better” Golf Tournament. The event, held October 24th at Innisbrook Golf Course in Palm Harbor, raised a record-setting $310,053 to benefit Children’s Home Network. This Tampa Bay non-profit assists more than 25,000 at-risk children and their families with innovative programs and services.
Since the tournament’s inception in 2016, the event has raised more than $1.082 million for the organization.
“Our goal was to raise $250,000 this year, and we’re ecstatic to have surpassed that,” said Sean Strickler, Division President for PulteGroup’s West Florida Division and a Children’s Home Network (CHN) Board of Directors member. “We’re extremely grateful for the generosity of our trade partners and every golfer who took the time to make a difference in a child’s life. We know the funds raised will help CHN continue to fulfill its mission and offer the children they serve hope for the future.”
The Children’s Home Network’s goal is to help children build their skills and confidence to succeed in life. Many of the children they serve have been abused, neglected, or abandoned. The organization offers eight different programs, including two residential programs – Adolescents in Motherhood and Kids Village. CHN provides counseling, therapy, educational tutoring, clothing, personal care items, summer camps, and athletic opportunities.
Proceeds from the tournament also help fund the CHN’s on-campus Pulte Promise Center, a vocational building with a computer lab used year-round for academic tutoring, mentoring, and assisting students who wish to complete their GED, research trade schools, or apply for jobs.
