Anna Maria Oyster Bar will move into turnkey facility occupied since 1994 by Family Table Restaurant
Sarasota, Fla. (October 26, 2022) – Gail Bowden, a Senior Investment Advisor at SVN Commercial Advisory Group, has managed the sale of a longstanding family restaurant in North Port, Fla. The Family Table Restaurant has been a fixture in the community since its opening in 1994.
The new owner, John Horne, will convert the facility at 14132 Tamiami Trail into an Anna Maria Oyster Bar. Set to open in January 2023, this will be the restaurant’s sixth location and the first in Sarasota County.
“It will be a great spot for a new location,” Bowden said. “We expect it to attract customers from North Port and also from the outlying areas of Venice, Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. The existing restaurant had a large following, and this one should, too.”
The turnkey restaurant building contains a sizable bar area and several dining rooms, including rooms for special events such as weddings and business conferences.
“North Port is growing rapidly right now, with lots of young communities and businesses springing up,” Bowden said. “The restaurant is positioned in a busy area, too, with a traffic count of more than 31,000 vehicles passing by the property every day. It’s a prime location.”
Enver Zulbeari, president of Family Table Restaurant, opened the establishment 28 years ago with his brothers and said he’s pleased with the success they’ve enjoyed. “We’ve been there a long time and it’s been a great restaurant,” he said. “We served breakfast, lunch and dinner, and had a lot of employees working for us over the years. It was just time for us to retire.”
Zulbeari added that his association with SVN Commercial Advisory Group was extremely positive and that he’s pleased with Bowden’s work in selling the property.
“Gail did a terrific job,” he said. “It was only on the market a couple of weeks before she had a buyer for us. She was absolutely amazing.”
Horne, owner and Executive Director of Anna Maria Oyster Bar, has already dished up food at the new site: He, his wife, Amanda and their team traveled to North Port in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian to serve hot food to residents and workers involved in cleanup efforts.
“It was a great experience. We’re really looking forward to opening the new restaurant to serve the people in North Port,” Horne said. “When we provided our pop-up meal service after the storm came through, we found the people so warm and welcoming. North Port has a demographic that includes guests of all ages. We’re eager to convert this gorgeous property into an Oyster Bar and be part of the community as soon as possible.”
