Manatee Clerk & Comptroller hosts Fall Community Shred Day Event at Manatee Technical College

BRADENTON, Fla. – The office of the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller is hosting its Fall Community Shred Day Event and invites residents to dispose of personal documents, securely recycle electronics, and destroy old hard drives on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Manatee Technical College, 6305 State Road 70 E.

“As custodians of court and public records, the protection of sensitive information is a top priority of our office,” said Angel Colonneso, Manatee County Clerk & Comptroller. “This is why our office offers residents a way to securely dispose of documents and devices that may contain sensitive information to protect themselves from identity theft.”

There is no cost for these services.

ShredQuick, a professional shredding company that is AAA Certified by the National Association for Information Destruction, will provide shredding, recycling, and hard drive destruction services for this event.

What Items Are Accepted

  • Documents of any color or type of paper
  • Plastic credit cards and IDs
  • Computer monitors
  • Computer towers/desktops
  • Cell phones
  • Tablets
  • Laptops
  • Hard drives

What Items Are Not Accepted

  • Binders
  • Junk mail
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • TVs

Paper clips, staples, rubber bands, labels, and file tabs do not need to be removed. However, we ask you not to bring more than two standard-sized bankers’ boxes, 12 inches by 10 inches by 15 inches in size of documents to be shredded.

No drop-offs are accepted. All participants must remain in their vehicle with their documents and electronics until a staff member or volunteer securely places their items into a bin to be shredded or recycled.

ShredQuick will destroy hard drives on site.
