St. Petersburg, FL — Movies in the Park, a recurring community event hosted by local historic preservation organization Preserve the ‘Burg, returns to North Straub Park, located between 4th Ave and 5th Ave NE on Beach Dr., on October 20 and October 27. A beloved community tradition, Movies in the Park invites St. Petersburg locals and visitors to gather at the historic waterfront park and enjoy family-friendly classics on an outdoor movie screen. The featured films will begin at dusk as follows:
• The Goonies airs on Thursday, October 20
• Beetlejuice airs on Thursday, October 27
Each evening begins at 6:00 PM with live music from some of the Bay Area’s well-known local acts:
• The Wandering Hours will perform on Thursday, October 20
• Boho Sideshow will perform on Thursday, October 27
Movies in the Park is free, however, attendees are encouraged to register in advance and make a donation or become a member to support the nonprofit organization. Donations support Preserve the ‘Burg’s mission to advocate for and celebrate St. Petersburg’s historic architecture and unique sense of place.
The event is free thanks to generous community sponsors including: St. Anthony’s Hospital, Duke Energy, Mathnasium, Waterfront Parks Foundation, Pet Food Warehouse, Pyper, Inc, Gasparilla Music Festival, and the City of St. Petersburg.
