About Matter Brothers Furniture & Mattress
Matter Brothers Furniture & Mattress is family-owned and operated since 1976 with five locations throughout Southwest Florida including Ft. Myers, Naples, Sarasota, Pinellas Park, and Tarpon Springs. The journey began in 1955 when Stewart Matter Sr. became a sales representative for Simmons Mattress Company. After several years of traveling through various states, and a longing to be home every night with his family, he decided to open a furniture showroom in his hometown of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. After 20 years of success, he set his sights on Ft. Myers, Florida, where he relocated, settled, and ultimately raised his family. Over the years, his sons, Tom, John, and Gary followed in his footsteps, joining the business and have since grown the business to one of the Top 100 Furniture Retailers in the country.
