Career-focused transitions occur as individuals move along the continuum of their career—requiring and/or wanting new skills and experiences that can enhance their careers and employability. BPW/FL will be celebrating National Business Women’s Week with a panel discussion on successfully negotiating career-focused transitions, with four BPW/FL members sharing their experiences and wisdom learned from their transitions. These women are from different parts of the state, are of different ages, have been/are in different business sectors, have been in Florida for different amounts of time, some of whom have been/are entrepreneurs, yet all have experienced career-focused transitions. The panelists are Amanda Cummins, Tiki Bates, Patricia Milian and Ronnell Montgomery and the moderator is BPW/FL President Sheila Barry-Oliver, Ed.D.
Founded in 1919 at the national and state levels, and in 1966 at the local level, BPW crosses generations, occupations and political parties. BPW/St. Petersburg-Pinellas is the local chapter of BPW/Florida. BPW’s mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. General membership meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 400 Beach Seafood and Tap House in downtown St. Petersburg. www.bpwstpetepinellas.org.
