About Dada @ Wada:
The new show revisits a concept that originated in central Europe 100 years ago as a response to World War I. While the absurd, irrational, or humorous elements are often in the foreground, Dadaism many times takes aim at the prevalent political and cultural narratives. Repurposing the mundane, creating collages, twisting perceptions and expectations, are all tools of expression that artists have used in this style. As such, the live visual transformation of an old piano, becomes an act of ‘Dada’, and the genre bending performance by one of the world’s leading sound poets, Jaap Blonk, is an experience that encapsules ‘Dada’. The selected works of the participating artists on display at the Tully-Levine Gallery highlight their individual takes on the theme.

The exhibit is shown at the Tully-Levine Gallery at the ArtsXchange Plaza located on the historic Deuces corridor, 515 22nd Street South in St. Petersburg. The gallery is accessible for people with disabilities, wheelchairs, and strollers.
