Bring your lawn chair or blanket and join us for some Shakespeare under the stars and help our neighbors!
St Petersburg and St Petersburg Shakespeare Festival was spared the brunt of Hurricane Ian. Our friends and colleagues just to the south, unfortunately, were not. We have cancelled our first weekend of performances and we will open for one weekend only, Oct 7, 8 and 9 in Williams Park. Our performances are free but donations, as always, will be accepted. This time, however, we will direct our fund-raising efforts to those who suffered loss in the path of Hurricane Ian.
As part of our event on Saturday Oct 8, at 6 pm we will a special pre-performance, performance by Timothy Mooney, of “Breakneck Comedy of Errors”. “Tim Mooney takes on the impossible: Shakespeare’s craziest farce: 13 characters! One man! One hour!”
Producing Artistic Director, GJ Thompson, PhD, says “We are eager to bring this event to St Petersburg and we look forward to raising funds to help the vibrant Ft. Myers theater community rebuild.”
