“Caribbean Rhythms” — Thursday, Sept. 22, 7:30 p.m., SCF Recital Hall
The SCF Jazz Ensemble, director Dr. Pete Carney, and guest artist Pablo Arencebia celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a night of salsa, bossa nova, tango and more. Carney’s experience performing with Tito Puente, Arturo Sandoval and Willie Chirino brings the flavor of Miami to SCF Bradenton for a sizzling evening with music from such locales as Argentina, Brazil, and Cuba. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $5 for SCF students and staff.
“Fall Festival of Music” — Thursday, Oct. 6, 7:30 p.m., SCF Neel Performing Arts Center
SCF music ensembles come together for the season’s first performance in the SCF Neel Performing Arts Center. Join the Symphonic Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Guitar Ensemble, Jazz Big Band, and Jazz Combo for the annual “Fall Festival of Music.” Tickets are $15 for general admission and $5 for SCF students and staff.
“The Magnificent Seven” — Thursday, Oct. 13, 7:30 p.m., SCF Neel Performing Arts Center
The SCF Bradenton Symphony Orchestra celebrates its seventh season. In honor of the occasion, the evening’s program will include a pair of sensational sevens. The performance features Elmer Bernstein’s film score to “The Magnificent Seven” and Ludwig Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
