For The Sixth Year In A Row, UT Ranked Among Bloomberg Businessweek’s Best Business Schools

September 21, 2022 by Post

TAMPA – The University of Tampa has been named to Bloomberg Businessweek’s ranking of the best – and most diverse — business schools of 2022-2023.

The Sykes College of Business MBA program was ranked overall No. 79 out of 117 business schools in the U.S. and the world.

In addition to the overall ranking, schools are separately ranked on five component indexes — compensation, networking, learning, entrepreneurship and diversity. UT ranked highest in the area of diversity, and was ranked the No. 9 school in the world in that area.

The list is based on survey data compiled from students, alumni and corporate recruiters. Reseachers also reviewed compensation and job-placement data from each school.

In the ranking, students and alumni were quoted describing UT’s strengths as:

  • Exposing students to “the necessary requirements to operate a business in a global integrated environment”
  • “Small class sizes and enthusiastic professors with industry experience”
  • “Quality of teaching, applying real-world problems/situations, small class size”

The complete 2022-2023 rankings can be found at bloomberg.com/business-schools/.

The Sykes College of Business offers both undergraduate and graduate coursework. Graduate students can pursue an MBA, as well as master’s of science degrees in accounting, business analytics, entrepreneurship, finance, cybersecurity, marketing and information and technology management. There are joint MS/MBA degrees, as well as professional and executive MBA schedules.

Frank Ghannadian, dean of the Sykes College of Business, said the College of Business attracts students from around the globe and is renowned for graduating students who make immediate impact in the business community and within their countries.

“I’m proud of all the business students who work extremely hard to reach their goals, faculty who are outstanding teachers and scholars and the vibrant business community that supports the Sykes College of Business every day,” Ghannadian said.

The University of Tampa is a private, comprehensive university located on 110 acres on the riverfront in downtown Tampa. Known for academic excellence, personal attention and real-world experience in its undergraduate and graduate programs, the University serves more than 10,600 students from 50 states and most of the world’s countries.
