Hudson, FL: Visiting Angels of Tampa Bay and CARES (Community Aging & Retirement Services, Inc.) of Pasco County announce the formation of the Visiting Angels Project CARES Fund to help provide interim care for the most vulnerable seniors who are awaiting state-based home care assistance. Melanie Price, Director of Visiting Angels of Tampa Bay stated, “Visiting Angels is accelerating their commitment to the communities we serve with this vital new program. This program is designed to provide immediate assistance to the most vulnerable seniors who are in danger while awaiting home care assistance. We will fund the project by contributing a portion of every private pay home care hour billed in Pasco County to this critical endeavor. We are delighted to partner with CARES to provide this critical service based on their long-standing track record of providing effective compassionate assistance to Pasco County seniors.”
Jemith Rosa, CARES President and CEO explains, “CARES non-profit organization is contracted by the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas to provide in-home programs for eligible at-risk elders, but often we have waiting lists for services. This generous act will help fund those gaps and be a Godsend for many of our elders.”
Visiting Angels of Tampa Bay is the largest Senior Home Care Nurse Registry, referring over 150 experienced, compassionate caregivers every day to Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas County seniors in need of assistance to continue living happily and safely at home. They help arrange a self-directed model of Senior Care by referring thoroughly vetted, trained, and experienced caregivers who can provide one-on-one non-medical care and assistance to seniors who wish to remain in their own homes. Self-directed care is a model of care delivery at home that emphasizes the rights of the client in determining the course of their care.
CARES is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of older adults and caregivers in Pasco County Florida. Since 1973, CARES has helped older adults stay at home, stay independent, stay connected and stay informed through health, social, and support services. Visit their website for more information at: www.CARESfl.org. To receive state-based CARES in-home care services, seniors or caregivers must first apply through the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas at www.AgingCareFL.org.
