TAMPA, FL September 2022: Crab Devil, one of Florida’s largest collaborative, multi-disciplinary arts efforts, is seeking accredited investors for its next seed funding round. Funds will be used to complete Phase Two construction and begin operations for Crab Devil’s multi-phase project, “The Peninsularium,” Crab Devil’s premiere attraction and Tampa’s first and only permanent, immersive art experience. “The Peninsularium” will be a multi-sensory interactive journey through environments created by a diverse group of artists.
Located on Nebraska Avenue on a major corridor connecting downtown Tampa to historic neighborhoods such as Ybor City, VM Ybor, and Seminole Heights, the Crab Devil two-acre campus sits within the East Tampa Development and Economic Opportunity Zone, a parcel within the city of Tampa that has seen extreme growth, infrastructure advancements, and mixed-use development.
Crab Devil is raising capital to fund the Phase Two buildout, which will include the initial installation of over 30 forty-foot shipping containers, each providing a unique immersive art experience collectively known as the “The Peninsularium.” Crab Devil completed Phase One of construction, including 8,250 sq. ft of interior spaces housing Tempus Projects, a non-profit gallery and artist’s residency space promoting diverse artists, and Deviant Libation, a genre-defying local Tampa Bay brewery. Additionally, significant infrastructural improvements were made to the entire two-acre campus.
“In the last five or six years, we have seen incredible growth in the location-based entertainment sector. Immersive arts attractions and other forms of experiential entertainment are projected to see near-exponential growth. As the City of Tampa continues to step onto the national stage as a city worthy of recognition, its strong and diverse community of artists is poised to do the same. The level of talent and energy here is as good as anywhere else in the country. Tampa and its creative community are ready for their turn in the spotlight,” comments Crab Devil CEO Devon Brady.
The mission of Crab Devil is to operate a profitable attraction that also benefits the community and its artists, attracting visitors from all over the world to spend their time and money here. Crab Devil’s seed funding round is currently open to accredited investors interested in joining Crab Devil’s journey and vision to bring immersive entertainment, art, history, and culture to the city of Tampa and beyond.
