PASCO COUNTY, FLA. (SEPT. 8, 2022) – Florida’s Sports Coast (Pasco County, Fla.) is gearing up for an excitement-packed Fall/Winter 2022 season with Halloween haunts, first-time destination events and celebrated tournaments and festivals. Through Halloween, Dade City’s Scream-A-Geddon welcomes guests to get their scream on at their award-winning haunts with six different scare-filled experiences. The Nov. 12-13, 2022 weekend promises limitless adventure with the return of the 34th Annual Florida Bug Jam in Dade City, as well as the 2022 Savage Race. This December, Florida’s Sports Coast will welcome the return of the 31st Annual Florida Senior Games and Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational, as well as first-ever destination sporting events like the International Rush Cup soccer tournament.
Scream-A-Geddon (Sept. 9, 2022 – Oct. 31, 2022)
Located in Dade City, Scream-A-Geddon is Florida’s award-winning horror park, featuring six haunted attractions and a Monster Midway. Horror fans looking to celebrate spooky season can embark on a haunt-filled adventure along Florida’s Sports Coast, exploring the Bloodwater Bayou, Ravenhill Asylum, Demon’s Revenge, Blackpool Prison and Rage 3D, as well as partake in Zombie Paintball Assault. For guests 21 years of age or older, Scream-A-Geddon is also home to Bonzo’s Beer Garden and an all-new food court experience. Florida Bug Jam (Nov. 12-13, 2022)
The 34th Annual Florida Bug Jam celebrates Volkswagen vehicles and those who love them. All weekend long, festival-goers at this family-friendly event can witness hundreds of VWs on display from across the country, a Volkswagen parade and VW Cruise-In Party in Historic Downtown Dade City, onsite camping, a five stop 30-mile poker run, “Bugs on the Track” off-roading, live music, shopping and so much more. Savage Race (Nov. 12-13, 2022)
This November, Savage Race will sprint to Dade City with two days of high-impact events. Savage Race is more than just a race, it’s about setting personal goals and smashing them and pushing limits to defeat 25+ of the world’s best obstacles. International Rush Cup (Dec. 1-4, 2022)
For the first time, the International Rush Cup will make its debut in Wesley Chapel. One of the most elite soccer tournaments in the U.S., the four-day event will feature an opening ceremony with special guest speaker and former Major League Soccer player DaMarcus Beasley, high level games featuring competitors from the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, college recruitment classes for high school-aged students and coaching education. 31st Annual Florida Senior Games (Dec. 3-11, 2022)
The Florida Senior Games presented by Humana are presented annually by the Florida Sports Foundation (FSF), the state’s lead sports promotion and development organization. Recently announced, Florida’s Sports Coast will host the 2022 through 2024 Florida Senior Games, an Olympic-style sports festival for athletes ages 50 and over. Featuring a roster of 22 sports, the 2022 Florida Senior Games will serve as the qualifier for the 2023 National Senior Games. The Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus, located in Wesley Chapel, will host multiple sports during the nine days of the 31st Annual Florida Senior Games alongside other venues such as the Sarah Vande Berg Tennis & Wellness Center in Zephyrhills, the Land O’ Lakes Recreation Center and other locations, including sporting events like basketball, volleyball, powerlifting, racquetball and more. Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational (Dec. 28-31, 2022)
This Winter, the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational will take over the Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus Dec. 28-31, 2022 for its third year in a row. This year’s events will feature 160 girls and boys varsity basketball teams from more than 20 states as well as Puerto Rico and Turks & Caicos, with more than 1,600 competing athletes and more than 100 college coaches and national scouts in attendance.
