September 7, 2022 by Post

BRADENTON, FL – Just for Girls (JFG), an educational program in Manatee County, is pleased to announce the receipt of a $25,000 grant from Bank of America. The investment will support a new and innovative digital literacy curriculum at the three JFG Leadership and Learning Centers. Just for Girls CEO Becky Canesse is proud of this commitment to S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education.

“It will open up exciting technology and career exploration for girls and young women attending Just for Girls. Together, we’re helping girls achieve their full potential,” said Ms. Canesse, on making the announcement.

Erik Vatter, president, Bank of America Sarasota-Manatee, concurred, “The funding for this program will help bridge the digital divide for girls in underserved communities by providing access to crucial resources necessary for fostering skills development in S.T.E.M., problem-solving, and socialization so that young women can reach their full potential to achieve their educational and career goals.”

Bank of America is committed to supporting nonprofits across Sarasota-Manatee that help drive economic growth and opportunity in the community by partnering with organizations focused on workforce development and education, as well as basic needs fundamental to long-term stability.
