The Ybor City Business Impact Award will go to Hotel Haya, which is being honored for its financial, cultural, and community investment in Ybor City. In a very short time, the hotel has become an important gathering place for locals and out of town guests, business professionals, and Ybor residents. The welcoming atmosphere is attracting weddings, corporate and civic events, and social gatherings that are new to Ybor City. Hotel Haya is a boutique hotel rooted in historic charm, offering world-class service with authentic hospitality while capturing the unique and dynamic character of Ybor City. The hotel spotlights the eclectic blend of people, cuisines, and cultures in Ybor City through community involvement and collaborations with local artists, artisans, and businesses. The 28th Adela and Cesar Gonzmart Award will be presented to Alberto and Carlos Alfonso, founders and owners of Alfonso Architects, an award winning 30-member architecture firm in Ybor City. The Alfonso’s are being honored for their many contributions to the Ybor City community since the founding of the firm in 1988. Alberto Alfonso is the founding principal and President of Alfonso Architects. With his brother Carlos J. Alfonso and partner Angel del Monte, Alfonso Architects has designed such notable projects as the Hotel Haya, Streamsong Resort Lodge and Golf Clubhouse, University of South Florida Center Carol and Frank Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare, the University of South Florida Medical Office Building, and many more. The 56th Annual Ybor City Chamber of Commerce Gala will feature tapas, cash bar, live entertainment, and dinner. This year’s platinum sponsors are the Columbia Restaurant Group and Tampa Electric Co.
