Tampa Band’s Video to Premier on the Eve of Florida Gators Home Opener
August 26, 2022 (Tampa, FL) – Soul Circus Cowboys, the rowdy southern rock band led by Brandonite Billy McKnight, are proud to announce the release of their newest video for “Gator Girls.” The song appears on their most recent album, ROLLING ACROSS AMERICA. The band will share the full video on September 2nd, the day before the Florida Gators take on Utah at the Swamp in Gainesville, FL.
McKnight, who co-wrote the track with Johnny Garcia (Garth Brooks) and local troubadour Troy Powers explains “Gator Girls is about Florida women. The kind of women that like to play outside. Hunting, fishing, four-wheelin and beach going. Everything you need in a Florida gal.”

The song is a rollicking salute to Florida women who possess a rowdy attitude and spirited sense of adventure alongside their love of nature and ‘a Salt Life.’ The band’s admiration for the Gator Girl set in motion a rock party anthem with a classic southern feel that would fit perfectly on a playlist with Kid Rock, ZZ Top and George Thorogood.
Florida pearls really rock my world
Ain’t nothin’ better than gator girl
Rockin’ to the band at the Sugar Sand Fest
Bare footin’ mamma’s in a flower sun dress
Down in the swampland giggin’ them frogs
Poppin’ some brewski’s and roasting those hogs
Stars shinin’ bright neath the palm tree world
Ain’t nothin’ better than gator girls
We don’t have no seasons we got sunshine and bikini’s
We don’t need no reason’s to have daytime margaritas
“Gator Girls” comes on the heels of fan favorite “Sunshine State,” which was released earlier this summer and is a tribute to the band’s home state. With the lyrics “There’s a Summer Moon all year round, sunrise, sunset, blues skies as blue as it gets, Margarita laid back soaking up Rays, just another day in the Sunshine State” there is no denying the bands pride of place.
