Brian Lacusky brings 32 years of experience in construction

and project management to central Florida

Tampa, Fla — Coastal Construction Vice President of Operations, Brian Lacusky (PHOTO ATTACHED), is returning to the company’s Tampa office. He brings 32 years’ experience in construction and project management to central Florida. This is his second stint with Coastal (4th in his career) on the west coast after nearly a decade in the West Palm Beach office. Lacusky previously spent two years working on the Water Street Tampa development, including construction of the JW Marriott Hotel & Convention Center.

“Construction is booming in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and central Florida and I’m excited to be back in the Bay Area,” said Brian Lacusky, Vice President of Operations. “This is one of the hottest markets in the U.S. right now and I’m honored to play a role in transforming Tampa Bay. We are currently working on high-rise luxury residences on both sides of the bay including the Arts and Entertainment Residences and Ritz-Carlton Residences in Tampa, along with Art House and 334 in downtown St. Petersburg. These projects will change the way people live, work, and play.”

In his 11 years with Coastal, Lacusky developed a passion for recruiting and he created a meaningful and structured internship program for undergraduates. Lacusky graduated from the University of Florida’s School of Building Construction with High Honors and takes pride in working with graduates of his alma mater. Lacusky also enjoys developing and leading diversity programs on projects for clients by establishing reliable processes for Coastal’s teams and talented subcontractors to exceed project goals.

“We are so grateful for Brian’s dedication and leadership and know he will do great things in our Tampa office,” said Sean DeMartino, President of Coastal Construction’s Central Florida division. “He has played a key role in some of our biggest projects including Water Street Tampa. Between leading by example for our current employees and serving as a mentor to our undergraduate recruits, Brian is an asset to this company, and I’m looking forward to seeing the work he does on the west coast.”

Lacusky has built a portfolio of projects across the United States and Florida. In addition to the JW Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in Tampa, some of his proudest works include Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Florida, the Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida, Hilton Hotel in West Palm Beach, Florida, Starwood Capital’s Miami Beach headquarters (2340 Collins Ave.) and the Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club in Surfside, Florida.

A privately owned company, Coastal Construction is one of the largest general contractors in the Southeast with offices in Miami, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach.
