TAMPA, Fla., August 1, 2022 – HCA Healthcare West Florida is pleased to announce that Brent Burish has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HCA Florida Pasadena Hospital, effective today. Burish has served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital and replaces Mike Irvin who was promoted to CEO of HCA Florida Trinity Hospital in July.
“Brent is an outstanding leader who has overseen significant growth and expansion at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital,” said President Ravi Chari, M.D., HCA Healthcare West Florida Division. “His passion for quality, growth and community service will be instrumental in supporting our expansion of programs and services to meet the growing needs of south Pinellas County and the beautiful beach communities that draw visitors from around the world.”
At Fawcett Hospital, Burish oversaw the Ethics and Compliance program, leading multiple hospital departments, and managing capital projects, including a $60-million hospital expansion, that began in June. During his tenure, Fawcett Hospital became a DNV certified comprehensive stroke center – the only one in Charlotte County. Brent has also been instrumental in supporting the growth of the hospital’s emergency services, including the opening of a new freestanding HCA Florida Cape Coral Emergency in June. Prior to joining Fawcett, Burish served as President and CEO of Orlando Health St. Cloud Hospital.
Burish graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He has served on multiple boards, including chambers of commerce and Rotary International. He is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
As a committed father, Burish is also actively involved in his four children’s schools. He and his wife Kathryn reside with their family in Charlotte County and look forward to moving to Pinellas County.
