Gulfport, FL – Join us on Friday, August 5th from 5-9pm at Brenda McMahon Gallery during Gulfport’s First Friday Art Walk to welcome the gallery debut of emerging artist Shara Bunis, the winner of last year’s Rise & Shine Emerging artist grant from the Gulfport Merchants Chamber.
Said Gallery owner Brenda McMahon: “Our Gallery is proud to host last year’s Rise & Shine Emerging Artist grant recipient Shara Bunis as our Artist of the Month in August and we look forward to showcasing her detailed paintings of flora, fauna and landscapes throughout the month. Join us during Art Walk to meet this rising talent on the art scene and learn more about Rise & Shine emerging artist grant.”
Visitors to the event will be treated to the smooth sounds and cool jazz of the celebrated saxophonist Henry Ashwood from 6-8pm.
Added Bunis, “The GMC’s Rise & Shine grant has provided me incredible growth opportunities both on a personal level and as an artist in the public eye. Each of the grant activities has required some pretty deep work on my part – either in continuing to learn my craft, or putting myself and my art out there for the world to see or even just how to run the business of art – and it culminates this month at the Gallery. I am beyond excited and grateful!”
Bunis’ show is the latest in a series of events by Brenda McMahon Gallery highlighting and uplifting emerging artists in the region. To apply for this year’s Rise & Shine grant, visit https://visitgulfportflorida.com/grants.
