October 15: Celebrate the National Day of Pugs at ArtLofts, 10 5th Street North, Saint Petersburg (above Florida Craftart). Paranormalist Brandy Stark, the host of international podcast Paranormal Pets will talk about animal interactions with the paranormal. Special guest, the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg’s official current paranormal investigating pug, Patroclus, will also be present. A special pug-themed art show is featured on the ArtLoft kitchen walls and will be up for the month of October to venerate these adorable little creatures. Artists will donate a portion of their sales to Florida pug rescue organizations (Pug Rescue of Florida and Compassionate Pug Rescue). Free and open to the public. Pugs welcome for the show and talk! Brandy Stark won a grant from the Saint Petersurg Arts Alliance to set up a temporary pop up paranormal museum for September and October in her art studio! The presentation features a call to artists to depict public locations that the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg have investigated for ghosts during their 25 year history, as well as local legends and lore. Visitors may vote for their favorite People’s Choice artwork. Each work will have a QR code linked to videos, articles, or other pieces of information related to the ghost story presented.
