07/13/2022 (TAMPA, Fla., 7/13/22) – Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Institute for Corporate and Continuing Education (ICCE) was awarded $993,813 in funding through the Open Door Grant Program by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) last fall. FDOE recently updated the Open Door Grant Program criteria to increase funding access. Qualified applicants may be eligible for up to $3,000 to cover the costs of tuition, fees, examination, books and materials for approved short-term and technical education credentialing courses that must be completed by September 30, 2023.
“Funds from Open Door have already begun helping eligible students train for high-demand certifications in growing industries,” said Ryan Buckthorpe, Director of HCC-ICCE. “The latest adjustments will allow us to further expand our ability to serve the community. Additionally, the ability to cover full tuition to those most in need means we can now serve a greater number of people in our community and help them attain an industry certification along their chosen career path.”
