St Petersburg, FL – Suncoast Health Council launched their “It’s Worth A Shot” Covid Vaccine Initiative to inform and educate the unvaccinated, along with incentives to encourage people to get the vaccine. People who have received the Covid vaccine beginning June 1st can receive a $50 gift card per vaccination. To redeem the gift card, you will need to email a camera phone photo of your vaccination card as well as take a short survey. Once completed, participants will receive one $50 gift card per shot while supplies last. This includes children under the age of 5 who are now eligible for vaccinations.
In addition to the gift cards, residents of Pasco and Pinellas counties can visit the SuncoasHealthCouncil.org website to view videos from the CDC about Covid vaccine safety – everything from pregnancy, fertility, children and family members with chronic illness or disabilities. Once they watch a brief video, there is a link at the end to complete a short survey and select a small gift just for learning more about Covid, Covid safety, and the Covid vaccine. Posted videos are available in English and Spanish on the Suncoast YouTube channel.
“The program was designed to assist people who are undecided or concerned about vaccine safety and need more information before making the decision to get vaccinated,“ said Elizabeth Rugg, Executive Director of Suncoast Health Council. “We have a series of videos posted on our website where people can get their questions answered about the safety and science of the vaccine in order to make an informed decision.”
“Most people don’t know they can get vaccinated at any local pharmacy. We are here to assist with anyone who needs help finding a pharmacy near them or for a personal touch, we can help them schedule their vaccine appointment,” said Paola Mancera, Vaccine Outreach Coordinator. “We want to make it easier for people to get the help they need.”
The Suncoast Health Council program is through collaborating partners Premier Community Health Care, Healthy Start Coalition Pinellas County, Healthy Start Coalition Pasco County and the Health Resources and Services Administration
