Five Things About Dragonflies

St. Petersburg, Florida –
L. B. Anne, award winning author of over 30 diverse chapter books for ages 6-17, including the best selling Sheena Meyers series, will be hosting a book signing event on Saturday, July 30th. The event will take place at the Barnes and Noble, located at 2501 Tyrone Blvd in St. Petersburg. Copies will be available for purchase.

L.B. Anne is coming to Barnes and Noble with her new historical fiction novel, Five Things About Dragonflies. Bring young readers and anyone interested in an adventure about Black Seminoles in 1812 Spanish Florida to meet the author and have your copy signed. This is one of the newest books released by L. B. Anne with the Forward written by Emmy Award winning news anchor and investigative journalist, Daralene Bell.

“I create books that take readers into new worlds on marvelous adventures, and open doors to journeys never imagined.” –L. B. Anne

From Kirkus Reviews:
Anne, a prolific author and Florida resident who is of African and Indigenous decent, presents a series opener that is both well researched and well written. The author engages the audience with a dual perspective narration that’s exciting, suspenseful, and socially conscious, though not preachy. Anne supplements the little-known history of the Black Seminoles depicted in the novel with a short glossary of terms and additional information on real-life people and events after the story concludes. Though Mia only appears at the tale’s beginning and end, she’s a relatable young girl who finds her inner strength. The bulk of the unique story belongs to Talula, whose heroic actions will inspire young and older readers. Riveting historical fiction that will enrich and delight the audience.
