ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Warehouse Arts District Association (WADA), a 501(c)3 non- profit arts organization dedicated to nurturing a vibrant arts community within and around the Warehouse Arts District, presents Markus Gottschlich as its new Executive Director
Gottschlich, originally from Austria, joins WADA with a successful track record of leading organizations, running festivals and education nonprofits in Miami,FL, Albuquerque,NM, Montclair, NJ and Vienna, Austria. In addition to his own artistic achievements as a performer, composer and Steinway Artist, he has focused on engaging communities with compelling arts education programs and culturally unique event initiatives. “I would like to renew our efforts in striving to sustain and expand the most vibrant arts community of the city and to contribute decisively in putting St. Pete on the map as a true destination for the arts, nationally as well as internationally.”, said Gottschlich, Located on the ‘Deuces’, Corridor the historic 22nd Street South, WADA’s Pruitt Arts Education Center, the Tully-Levine Gallery, the Burka Lounge and the 30 individual artist studios on the ArtsXchange campus, will serve as key building blocks for an expanded role that WADA seeks in the arts community. Already, large numbers of visitors make the Warehouse Arts District a fixture every second Saturday for ‘ArtWalk’. “We are in the midst of creating a full slate of exciting educational programs for member artists and students of all ages and backgrounds. So much has changed since I have attended Admiral Farragut Academy in the late 1990’s. The possibilities and synergies that wait to be explored are almost palatable.
