Distillery’s Lemon Libation & Celebration Benefit Local Laundry Initiative

June 24, 2022 by Post

WHAT: In honor of Current Initiative’s 14th year of providing pop-up complimentary laundry services to communities across the country, Tampa-based Dark Door Distillery is hosting a free concert to release a commemorative gin benefiting the Laundry Project initiative.

Freshly Folded, a jasmine and lemon verbena flavored gin, was created by the distillery team at Dark Door and its release coincides with a live concert Saturday night featuring Loose Talk, Urbane Cowboys and Right On Time. Tickets to the concert are free and a portion of the proceeds from each bottle of Freshly Folded sold will be donated to the Laundry Project.

The Laundry Project brings renewed hope to thousands of people nationwide by providing the funds and cleaning products necessary to wash and dry socks, sheets, towels, pants, shirts and anything else machine-washable for anyone in-need by creating a caring space at the laundromat.

WHY: Since 2008, the Laundry Project has washed more than 229,000 loads of laundry for over 22,400 families, in 875 laundry service projects in 15 states and 53 cities nationwide. Contributions from the community are always appreciated and donations of detergent, quarters (rolls of $10), garbage bags, coloring books, crayons, fabric softener and laundry baskets are continuously in-need.

Clean laundry is not just an on-going financial burden for many families but is also a contributing factor to overall health and wellness. The Laundry Project is committed to doing what they can to bolster one’s well-being by easing the financial burden for those forced to choose between feeding their family or cleaning their clothes.

WHEN: Saturday, June 25 at 6 p.m.

WHERE: Dark Door Spirits located at 6608 Anderson Road in Tampa
