Tampa’s Premier Improv Festival Returns For The 6th Year To Ybor City, Featuring 120 Performers From Across The Country

June 23, 2022 by Post

TAMPA, FL, June 2022: The Countdown Improv Festival, the world’s only improv festival exclusively devoted to trio, duo, and solo improv comedy, is returning to historic Ybor City for the sixth year. With acts over three stages made up of top comedians from around the country, the 2022 Countdown Improv Festival will be bigger and better than ever.

“We’re excited to bring the Countdown Improv Festival back to Tampa for its sixth big year. If you like ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway,’ you’ll love this festival. We’ve got everything from fully improvised Broadway-style musicals to off-the-cuff action movies to good old-fashioned quick-witted comedy shows,” commented Kelly Buttermore and Justin Peters, founders of the Countdown Improv Festival.

This year’s festival features 66 separate solo, duo, and trio acts, comprised of over 120 performers from 18 different states, plus D.C. and Canada. Additionally, the comedy-filled weekend includes improv workshops open to the public.

“Improv is an art form for everyone, and if you’ve always wanted to give it a try, we’ll have a number of workshops where you can boost your confidence, have some fun, and learn to think on your feet,” they continued.

The Countdown Improv Festival is a project of Countdown Arts, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The 2022 Countdown Improv Festival takes place August 10-13 at the HCC Performing Arts Building in Ybor City.
