UT Adds Nine Grad Certificates to Expand Education Opportunities for Working Adults

June 22, 2022 by Post

TAMPA – The University of Tampa announced this week it will begin offering nine additional graduate certificates starting in Fall 2022. These graduate certificates will offer working adults a new opportunity to gain advanced, skill-based training in business, accounting, analytics, instructional design and health science disciplines in one year.

This opportunity complements UT’s existing 200+ undergraduate and graduate academic programs, and the University’s mission to support continuing education and professional growth. These new graduate certificates are an addition to UT’s existing graduate certificates in cybersecurity and nonprofit management.

Each of the nine new graduate certificates can be earned in three to four courses and are stackable. This means that certificate courses can count toward a UT master’s degree, creating a clear path for obtaining specific skills, plus the potential to earn a graduate degree.

“The pandemic left many adult workers needing to find alternative ways to enhance their knowledge and skills in order to become more marketable or move into new careers,” said Art Goon, UT’s assistant vice president and executive director of graduate and continuing studies. “These graduate certificates will provide them with the education they need to pursue their career goals in a shorter period.”

UT’s nine new graduate certificates are:

  • Accounting Analytics
  • Accounting Taxation
  • Assurance Services
  • Business Analytics
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Online Development
  • Predictive Analytics
  • Project Management
  • Sport Nutrition

Admission requirements vary for each graduate certificate, with preference given to students who fully meet the requirements for a UT master’s program.

UT’s decision to add more graduate certificates comes in the wake of growing national demand for short-term, skill-based training that helps working adults remain competitive in today’s evolving job market.
