Flagship Bank Holds Grand Opening of West Pasco Branch to Expand Community Banking in Tampa Bay
Clearwater, Fla. – June 6, 2022 – Flagship Bank, a subsidiary of West Florida Bank Corporation, inaugurated a new chapter in its growth and service commitment to the Tampa Bay area with the official grand opening of its West Pasco branch, its sixth, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 2. The new branch strengthens the bank’s presence in West Pasco, where many of its directors, officers, and shareholders live and work, and marks a significant expansion that further advances Flagship’s goal of becoming Tampa Bay’s preeminent community bank by making long-term growth investments to better serve small to mid-sized businesses as well as individual account holders.
The West Pasco branch, located on the northeast corner of Little Road and Trinity Boulevard, at 9040 Tryfon Boulevard in the community of Trinity, was christened with a ribbon cutting by Paul J. Wikle, chairman of the board for Flagship Bank and West Florida Bank Corporation; Robert McGivney, CEO, Flagship Bank, and vice chairman of the board; and leaders of the Greater Pasco Chamber of Commerce.
The event was attended by dignitaries that consisted of local lawmakers, government executives, law enforcement chiefs, judges, and other leaders, including Ed Hooper, senator, Florida Senate; Declan Mansfield, judge, Sixth Judicial Circuit Court, Pasco County; Kelly Mothershead, councilwoman, New Port Richey City Council; Kim Bogart, chief of police, New Port Richey; Mike Wells, property appraiser, Pasco County; and Cynthia Armstrong, chair, Pasco County School Board.
“We’re honored to have a new presence in Pasco County and bring back community banking to a thriving region that represents a crucial segment of our customers,” said Wikle. “As the Tampa Bay area continues to experience a period of unprecedented growth and require a broader offering of financial services, we’re privileged to be able to serve this demand with a facility that not only delivers the latest technologies for quick, easy, and secure banking, but also offers customers a more inviting environment for face-to-face interactions and in-person services. Opening this new office reaffirms our commitment to serving our community.”
The new branch is headed by Retail Market Manager Jackie Basak, who has been a banker in West Pasco for over 40 years, and includes four other full-time banking professionals who are equipped with the latest technology infrastructure to support Flagship’s full range of digital and online services.
“Community banking is back in West Pasco,” said McGivney. “While we’re already serving many businesses and residents of West Pasco electronically and through our other locations, we look forward to expanding those relationships and building new ones through this new West Pasco location. Many people prefer to bank online. However, when people want to discuss a loan or mortgage, they often want to talk face to face to someone who can give them assurance that they’re asking the right questions and getting the right answers. This is one of the many value-added services that Flagship offers at our West Pasco office.”
Flagship Bank also has offices in St. Petersburg, Largo, Clearwater, Oldsmar and Tarpon Springs. Construction of a free-standing, more convenient Tarpon Springs office began in March and is scheduled to be completed in December.
