(Wesley Chapel, Florida) – This Military Appreciation Month, national homebuilder PulteGroup’s Built to Honor® program is proud to announce a Gold Star family will receive a brand-new mortgage-free home in Tampa Bay. In partnership with the national non-profit Building Homes for Heroes®, the program will provide Nazeraeh Montrond, the daughter of a fallen United States Army Sergeant with a three-bedroom townhome by Centex in the Wesley Reserve at Chapel Crossing Community in Wesley Chapel.
Nazeraeh Montrond lost her father, Army Sergeant Alberto Montrond, in February 2006 when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated near his Humvee. He was serving in Afghanistan with the Group Service Support Company in the new Group Support Battalion (GSSC, GSB) for the 7th Special Forces Group. Sgt. Montrond deployed at least four times in support of the Global War on Terror, supporting Special Operations forces in Iraq, Jordan, and Afghanistan.
Several years later, Montrond’s mother Christl she passed away in March 2021 after suffering with several heath issues, leaving 21-year-old Nazaraeh to care for her three younger siblings. Today, she manages a full-time job and a full-time college schedule, while raising her younger siblings. Nazaraeh is currently completing her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a concentration in Behavioral Health Sciences and Health Care Administration.
“We are honored to provide Nazeraeh and her siblings a home of their own,” said Sean Strickler, President of the West Florida Division of PulteGroup. “Their story truly touched all of us. As we celebrate Military Appreciation Month and prepare for Memorial Day, we are reminded of the sacrifices that military families make in service of our nation. We hope this home will not only provide comfort and make life easier for the Montrond family, but will also be the source of many joyful memories.”
