Local Artist Paula Allen aka Pollyzoom is working on a new community art project with kids called Planet Turtle. Planet Turtle is funded by a Gobioff foundation Microgrant. The Mission of the art project is to use digital media by kids and 2 -D visual art to promote a clear message of how we can get the word out to assist Sea Turtles to have a safer life on our planet, specifically our beaches here in Florida. The art messages are specific to how plastics are a danger to our oceans, how lights distract nesting turtles and their young and what we can do when we visit our beaches
Art for Advocacy was also a theme of an animated film about Saving Our Bee Populations called Beehold created by Paula and over 200 Children in Florida and New York .
Using Animations, digital drawings, and cartoons kids have been creating in Hillsborough County at Lee Academy for Gifted Education and in Pinellas County at the Morean Arts Center. The project also includes kids in India at the
Hariharananda Balashram mission part of Hand in Hand USA close to one of the largest turtle nesting beaches in the world on the Bay of Bengal. Information on the art project can be found at www.pollyzoom.com
