What: Young Women of Distinction Awards Ceremony
This annual event honors Girl Scouts from the council’s ten-county service area who have earned official awards and recognitions. Twenty girls from Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee, and Collier Counties are receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award. This prestigious award represents the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, recognizing girls who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through remarkable take-action projects with sustainable impact in their communities.
Other recognitions include the Girl Scout Silver and Bronze Awards, the Dr. Elinor Crawford Girl Scout College Scholarship, Lyndi Cyphers Memorial College Scholarship, religious recognitions, program awards, and Girl Scout Cookie Entrepreneurs (those selling 1,000+ packages in 2022). A total of 625 awards and recognitions will be presented to more than 450 girls.
