For months local educator brides-to-be have been nominated for the big event. They are always doing great work for our students. Their incredible efforts during the pandemic have been outstanding & people have been singing their praises during difficult times. The Regent event space in Riverview gave away 17 amazing wedding dresses to first responder brides to be as a thank you for their hard work during COVID-19 in the fall. Now it’s the educators turn.
A whopping 50 educator winners have been chosen and will be revealed on Monday, May 2 at The Regent. This is all a part of a fabulous salute to educators during Teacher Appreciation Week by the Riverview event space. Winners are from schools all over Hillsborough County and are teachers, support staff, office administrator assistants, security officers and more,
Once the nomination time frame closed, the winners were brought in one by one to have a wedding dress fitting and pick a beautiful sequined spectacular wedding dress of their dreams. The cost to them, nothing. It’s a big thank you from The Regent for all the teachers do.The dresses are valued at between $800 and $2700 each! The winners take them home for free! That is a significant cost savings to them indeed. The Regent, CEO, Shannon Kiel came up with this idea last year and it’s been such a rewarding project for her and the community. They love to welcome guests for amazing events at their facility, now they’ve been providing the amazing gowns that will be forever treasured in wedding pictures for lifetimes to come.
The Regent partnered with Satin and Lace Bridal Boutique to get the dresses as the boutique made room for new inventory. It’s been a passion project for both businesses and the reactions can leave you in tears.
Some winners share stories of family health challenges and tight finances and how this makes a huge difference in their wedding plans. Others share their thanks for being able to get such a beautiful gown for their special day, something they didn’t quite believe at first and still don’t. Others still share their goal of getting married in a beautiful gown and wanting to return it for other deserving brides to use to celebrate their magical day. They don’t want it to sit in a closet for years, they say why not get more use out of it.
