Gulfport, FL – Since its’ debut in 2019, Brenda McMahon Gallery has been a continual source of artistic education and inspiration in the arts-loving Tampa region. From its signature, weekly Taste of Art series of intimate creative workshops in ceramics, glass, and painting, to hosting and mentoring emerging artists, the Gallery has committed to cultivating the creative talent that abounds throughout the region, while also representing fine art & contemporary craft from nearly 20 of the state’s most accomplished artists.
Continuing her interest in educating artists of all skill levels, Gallery owner Brenda McMahon recently accepted an invitation to teach her fifth international ceramic workshop in Tuscany, Italy this September. The 12-day ceramic intensive workshop takes place an hour south of Florence in the town of Certaldo and merges ceramic instruction and firing with a traditional Tuscan lifestyle. The workshop is designed for experienced and beginner clay enthusiasts to study McMahon’s unique style in tile making and glazing.
Said McMahon: “Learning ceramics in Italy is a beautiful merging of celebrating your creative spirit in a land that celebrates time, contemplation and an appreciation of nature. Our workshop takes place in the ‘Nature Studio’ at La Meridiana, where the towers of San Gimignano can be seen in the distance.”
“I love teaching beginners to advanced students in one setting,” continued McMahon. “Together, with various experiences and diverse cultures we are a group of international creatives sharing meals, art, laughter and spontaneous conversation. I love Tuscany and teaching almost as much as I love my beautiful Gulfport community and Gallery.”
The Tuscan workshop runs from Sun, Sep 11th – Sat, Sep 24th and more information can be found at brendamcmahon.com/Workshops.php.
