Local Animal Rescue Launches Capital Campaign
Seminole, Fla. – FLUFF Animal Rescue, Inc. has launched a pivotal fundraising campaign (#ASafePlacetoPaws) with the hope of securing a 5 acre property within Pinellas County to expand its operations into a fully functional animal sanctuary.
FLUFF was founded in 2016 by Kimmy Chandler, and her family, and has saved over 2000 animals’ lives to date. The sanctuary will exist to support and grow the rescue efforts of the group, saving even more lives, allowing the rescue to care for animals who need extra attention and allow for a forever home for animals that truly need a special place to live. Future plans of the sanctuary also include an on-property veterinary clinic, maternity ward, intake center, as well as grooming and training services.
“Currently, the costs for proper veterinary care and prevention for the number of animals rescued by FLUFF have become a hurdle in our life-saving mission. FLUFF spent over $30,000 on three litters of puppies who were battling the Parvo virus, diminishing our ability to save more lives,” states FLUFF Founder and President, Kimmy Chandler. In an effort to control the veterinary costs for not only FLUFF, but for others within the surrounding area, FLUFF is going to operate a non-profit care clinic for rescue animals. This on-property clinic will be offering free vaccines to our community and discounted services to our partner rescue groups.
FLUFF currently cares for approximately 100 cats and dogs at a time. The acquisition of the property, combined with FLUFF’s current foster community, will enable FLUFF to significantly multiply that number. When FLUFF Rescue increases intake of animals, shelters will see some much-needed relief from overcrowding and euthanasia. In the State of Florida, currently over 40,000 dogs and cats are euthanized annually. FLUFF’s mission is focused on reducing the number of shelter euthanasia, partnering with others to make Florida a completely “no-kill” state.
“FLUFF has grown exponentially since it’s birth in 2016, and we are grateful for the opportunity to expand our efforts in Pinellas County,” Chandler added. “We hope that our partners, community and supporters will embrace and affirm our dream to save more lives!” In order to continue it’s mission by purchasing this property, FLUFF will raise a total of $3 million over the next 12 months.
